Pair of High Fired Contemporary Vases

These are a set of two contemporary vases from Jingdezhen. The pieces are high fired in kilns up to 2500 degrees. Regular firing ranges are 1300 degrees. High fired pieces are prized due to its extra shiny glaze and colors. High fired pieces are also rare in that only a few pieces ever survive the complete firing process. The vases feature a very modern contemporary shape being squared yet with curves. The color is a very rich burgandy with white underglaze. Although these two may appear the same, the vase on the left is .25 inches shorter, proof that these are hand made, as machine produced vases would have exactly the same dimensions. Each piece weighs 8.95 pounds or 4.06 kgs. Measures 13.75 inches tall, by 5.75 inches wide with the left one being .25 inches shorter. A great set for those looking for matching pieces.
